FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Where and what time do we meet? Details of where and when to meet are dependent on the route and will be agreed on booking. A reminder will be sent before the event.
- What happens if the weather is bad? It's rare for the weather to be bad enough to cancel a walk. Typically if the Met Office have issued an Amber or Red weather warning the event may be cancelled. If this happens I will try and rearrange the date or offer a full refund.
- What should I bring? Have a look at the 'What Kit Do I Need? ' page. In addition depending on weather and trail conditions I will confirm separately prior to the event.
- How fit do I need to be? This largely depends on the hike but Suffolk is relatively flat so anyone with a reasonable level of fitness should be able to complete a half day without a problem. If you do have any particular concerns just contact me and we can discuss.
- Can children come on the hikes? The hikes are designed for adults and not really suitable for young children (under 14). Children between 14 and 17 can attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Can I bring my pet dog? If there are other people in the group I would have to make sure no-one has an issue which can be confirmed well in advance, otherwise yes as long as it's kept on a lead at all times for the safety and comfort of everyone in the group and to avoid any issues with livestock or wildlife.
- What if I have an injury or fall ill during the hike? With the exception of special events there are no extreme terrain conditions on the walks. However as with any outdoor activity there is always the small risk of slips and trips, blisters etc or falling suddenly ill. I always carry a first aid kit and am a qualified first aider and would make sure you get the most suitable treatment as soon as possible. Everyone who undertakes a hike does so at their own risk and a waiver will be required prior to starting any walk.
- What is included in breakfast and packed lunches? I use locally sourced seasonal and homemade produce so this regularly changes. I would advise you of the options as part of the booking process to ensure that I meet any specific dietary requirements.
